Innovation in Smartphones and how it really influences consumers

Smartphones and their updates and constant changes have accomplished to catch the attention of all audiences, particularly younger audiences, who are more influenced by the attitude of technological consumerism.

Many smartphone brands have cutting edge characteristics that catch the attention of the masses; among these main brands stand out Apple, Samsung, Huawei y Xiaomi, who hold top seller positions at a worldwide level, respectively. All these brands tend to have new characteristics, especially in the area of cameras and multimedia content playing options; since, according to studies these are the main aspects that catch young consumers’ attention, who upgrade their mobiles more often than other sectors. Recent studies by Nielsen  show that:

18-24 years 85%
25-34 years 86,2%
55-64 years 60%

Keeping up with the war of innovation, it is evident that brands such as Apple and Huawei have made titanic efforts for presenting new, appealing functions; for instance, the new smartphones with 3 and 4 cameras, which is a trend that was set by Huawei thanks to their versatility of photographic scenes: Wide angle pictures, optical zoom pictures to  better approach objects without moving from the photographer’s position; cameras with more megapixels or focused in depth measurement for augmented reality. The latter being already evidence of its popularity, since the new line of Iphone XI follows the trend od including more modules to catch the users’ attention.

In brief, younger populations are the ones with a higher rate of consumption for the smartphone industry, and brands know how to call their attention through marketing of those modern and fascinating characteristics. Previously, the upgrade of mobiles on the side of users was not that frequent, since they did not come with outstandingly different characteristics. However, now these changes are made by the year or even less time, since companies constantly organize product releases.
